About This Course

This course equips learners with the essential knowledge and skills to design and develop user interfaces that are both visually engaging and user-friendly. Centered on the Technical Skills and Competencies (TSCs) of User Interface Design (ICT-DES-3008-1.1) and User Experience Design (ICT-DES-3007-1.1), the module introduces UI principles, front-end development tools, and techniques required to build responsive, interactive websites.

Learners will gain hands-on experience using tools such as Visual Studio Code, Bootstrap, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery UI. Through a combination of guided exercises and independent project work, learners translate business requirements into practical interface designs while applying responsive design and usability principles.

The module project challenges learners to analyse user and business needs and design a complete, functional website that enhances user interaction and experience—without requiring database connectivity. By the end of the module, learners will be proficient in optimizing layout and interface behavior for seamless user journeys and high visual impact.
